When the Frisco withdrew from its operation of the Texas Special between St Louis and and Vinita, OK on January 5, 1959, the Frisco found itself with a surplus of 12 year old, light weight passenger cars. It removed the old heavyweight, section Pullmans, and replaced them with its 14-4 lightweight sleepers from the Texas Special. Likewise, the heavyweight chair cars were replaced with the former Texas Special lightweight chair cars.
